Hi
Before jumping into any conclusion better wait and see if he does the same during your festive days. You may take up the issue by talking to him direct at that juncture instead of raising a complaint under assumptive basis at this stage.

I hope dussera is a festival holiday and not a national holiday. In order to make the business going, the employer can ask any person to work on any holiday subject to certain conditions. By asking you to work from home on dussera your religious sentiments do not seem to be hurt. Let us take it lightly because you are a Senior position employee (I believe)
When I was studying in school, my teacher used to give all the students a lot of assignments ( in my days it was called as Home Work, but later this new word has come in) when we go for Onam or Christmas vacations. None of us questioned it saying that vacation is for us to enjoy. Let us think this work from home as home work and be positive!!

Dear friend,
Many establishments are following community based festival holiday systems to appease all sects of religion. All sects employee are being given 3-4 festivals as per norms of the state govt. So you should not cosider this as other wise. This kind of holiday rule was prevailing in my previous company, a manufacturer and largest exporter of refractory.

They may request to work from home but not demanding. If you would like to participate or celebrate Dussera you can no objection from our constitution. You may tell your boss to required holiday as got like others. He may agree for the same.
