Hi,
No. The proper process is to get relieved from the previous employer with relieving order and then to join new Organization. Some Companies are not insisting for relieving order from past employer. But still it is always advisable to collect relieving order on the last working day. The same will be the proof for your working experience with that particular Company and in future any prospective employer might ask for it.
