Can someone advise. Is salary slip a legal right of an employee? Can this be substantiated with any law/ statutory requirement? If appointment letter has been issued. Thanks & regards,

Yes
It is mandatory under Minimum wages Act and Shops and Establishments Act.
If wage slip is issued and the salary is credited to the given bank account of the employee it is a sufficient compliance and the signature of the employee on wage register affixing revenue stamp is not necessary under Payment of Wages Rules as ammended.
I hope I have done justice to the query with in my considered opinion.
