Dear seniors, Namaste!

Your expert advice is solicited, please.

1- One of our employees asked for leave on 16th January 2024, and he was granted off/leave for 02 days (verbally approved). Means for 17th January 2024 and 18th January 2024.
2- On the 17th of January evening, we came to know that around 6:00 PM, the employee met with a road accident near his home, and he passed away.
3- In January 2024, how many days of salary will he be eligible for? It will be up to 18th January?
4- While crediting his salary should we use the same bank account or we should ask other bank accounts (specially his wife's account).
5- Which other things should I keep in mind?

Please advise.

Hi

Till date of death salary to be processed so as to enable the nominee of the employee to claim all PF benefits ( PF/ Pension/ EDLI) provided if your organization is covered under PF.

You should not credit the salary mow. Make a full and final settlement and wait for Nominee to submit all documents right from legal heir certificate, marriage certificate or proof of Marriage and all other supporting documents.
