Dear All Hr Manager,
Please provide me the categories of worker.
Is there is any act to define the worker categies as per their work. we have categoies as per minimum wages rate . but that shows only minimum rate of different categoies.
Suppose a worker having education qualification is up to 12th and joined as a office boy for helping a computer engineer but by regularly doing computer (up to 5 year) he has develop himself to handle the entire office computer system. we can't give him an engineer designation. we also can't define a new disgnation for him. So please provide the list of Designation as per Law

One way to "describe" categories of workers is to base it on "skills" like, Unskilled, Semi-Skilled, Skilled and Highly Skilled". But while this addresses the skill differentials, it does not take into account the "trade" of the workman concerned. "Education" is not necessarily an adequate criterion to categories of workmen since the organization employs them essential for their skills and then for their formal training (education).

The best way is to make an combination. We build "skill differentials" into the "trade differentials" and specify the requirements of "Education (trade/function), Experience and Expertise as judged at the time of employment and thereafter! Merely going by the "trade differentials" many times it is noticed that employees resort to restrictive work practices and at such times the "work culture" is not of much help!

There is NO law that specifies designations for categories of employees except for the purposes of Industrial Disputes Act 1947 which recognises various categories as "workman", Supervisors" and other "non-workman".

hi,
As said by samvedan, all trades are comes under four category viz. USK - unskilled, SSK - Semi skilled ,SK - skilled , HSK - Highly skilled
For better clarity, USK such as helper category, SK have little experience in the trade, SSK - ITI qualfied technician like Electrician or experience mason etc, and HSK - experience crane operators like hydra crane and tower crane etc.
