Hello, I am working for the last 4 years as a digital marketing freelancer but now I want a full-time job. Currently, I just completed my graduation and doing an MBA (distance).
I am getting an offer from a digital marketing agency with only 4 people in that organization and providing around 20k per month salary to me.
The second option I have to go with an MNC named "Optum" a part of United Health Group in Gurgaon as claims associate profile.
Please advise me what should I do? Or if you know big companies for digital marketing where I can apply, please help me out.

Dear Thisisanonymous,
Working for a small and big company, both have advantages and disadvantages.
If the small company grows then you will have an opportunity to acquire the designation of the senior management earlier. Since the strength of the employees is too less, generally the working style is flexible.
On the downside, the systems and processes in the small companies are not stabilised. There may not well-defined SOPs, Policies etc. Most of the time, the work is done by giving oral instructions. The kind of documentation a company should have may or may not be there. Going further, if you work in the company that has just 4 employees then the company may not provide PF/ESI benefits. In case, if you are a woman employee then you will not be eligible for maternity leave.
In contrast, in the bigger companies, the systems and processes are expected to be well-defined. There is, of course, an advantage to work in such a company. If these procedures, if imbibed well, you will be able to replicate these in your future jobs too. Secondly, there will be the advantage of getting statutory benefits like PF, ESI, gratuity etc. Thirdly, you might get a chance to work under a dynamic manager. By just imitating the management style of this manager, you can learn a lot. Fourthly, there is a possibility of working in some other department also. God knows what opportunity might come in your path. Fifthly, there is a possibility of getting awards like "employee of the year" etc. Sixthly, you might get a chance to interact with MBAs from the other disciplines like HR, Finance etc. The interaction with them could prove knowledge-enriching. Lastly, there is always the advantage of working in a branded company. Each day spent in such company adds a value to your CV.
The downside of working in a bigger company is akin to become a fish in the sea. However big you may be, the sea will be always far bigger, deeper, wider and so on.
Therefore, both sides have advantages and disadvantages. The final call is going to be yours.
All the best!

Dear Dinesh
It may be the possibilities that the employee can avail the Maternity benefit.
It depend upon the applicable S&E Act in particular state.
As he/she is working in Digital Company & company may be covered under the State Shops & Establishments Act. You are not covered under MB Act as employee strength is less than 10 but go through the applicable Shops Act for maternity leaves. According to Punjab Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 every woman employed is entitled to maternity leave with some conditions. Section 31 on maternity benefit is given below for ready reference.

Provided that no such payment shall be made for any day on which she attends work and receives payment thereof during the six weeks preceding her delivery.

It all depends upon what is your passion. Would you like to build a career in Digital Marketing? Do you think you have enough expertise to get a job where you can get a salary of 40-50K or may be more?
Only you know the answers to the above questions. If you want to build a career in Digital Marketing then why settle for 20K? Go for a better job. Anyone who has 4 years of experience in DM and is competent can get a better job than 20K.
Post your requirement on LinkedIn and I am sure you will get some interviews for a better job.
I think you need to decide if you want to build a career in DM or want to join a big company at an associate level and start from scratch. You already have 4 years of exp. in DM. Why waste it?

Hello,
Greetings of the day,
Many people have written you a lot of suggestions, but I’ll give you true (bitter) path for the same.
1. You should go with "Optum" which is a part of United Health Group in Gurgaon as claims associate profile or any another big company with big or medium package (know all the thing about company).
2. In the field of digital marketing, maximum companies are taking their work from outsides or franchisees or small companies, they do not depute digital marketing executive at their own, also very minimum payment is given for a long time.
3. If you continue run with small companies or with freelancers, your future may be blocked. Until you get a big company with handsome package you cannot make your strong future. For this, you can also quit from the job of digital marketing.
Wishing you very best of luck.
Bye.
