Dear All, I would like to seek advice on a matter concerning a staff member from our Branch office. She tendered her one-month resignation notice on 8th April, with her last day of employment being the 6th of May, after subtracting her prorated Annual Leave, to which she has agreed (she endorsed the ACCEPTANCE OF RESIGNATION letter). She did not request any early release and agreed to complete her notice period and hand over her current duties to her replacement.
However, today, on the 15th of April, she was not contactable and did not turn up to the office. Another colleague then informed us that she has actually joined another company and today is her first day at work. Please advise on how I should deal with this situation.
Thank you.

Hi,
In case if the employee is not reporting to work without information you can try reach the employee through all the possible sources. In case of no response you may proceed with disciplinary action warning letter followed by termination.
Such employees think that they are smart and evaded serving the notice period diplomatically but later realize the consequences like overlapping date issue in PF/ negative feedback during future BGV process etc.
