The local politiecians as well as village head put their demands a part from that all statutory authorities. Dear Mr.Kumarji !
I agree with your views. Generally the Units situated in the Urban or semi-Urban/ Rural areas the position of HR Head is a very tough task.
These jobs are to be tackled as a part of HR Services. Or else who will take care ? Is the Employer or any outside agency ? It's the bounden responsibility of the HR&Admn to tackle such social issues as we are living in the Society.
However I would like to mention the following few things to be tackled by the Head HR, to resolve the issues amicably with the support of the Top Management.
1. Good rapport to be maintained in the nearby Community with the Village chief and others irrespective of their political affiliation.
2. Certain social activities to be conducted now & then. for ex: Drawing competitions
for the children of the particular area.
3. Unskilled type jobs, if available in the Unit can also be provided to the needy poor incumbents.
Even for the qualified n talented unemployees in the local area also to be provided with the suitable employment opportunities.
4. Basic amenities like transport to be given now and then at the time of emergency situations to go to the nearby town Hospitals. Even the co's Medical Officer be allowed weekly once to visit the villagers of sick, in their Community Hall.
5.Education and it's importance to be enlightened. Encourage the Poor students in that local area with some Prize Money/ Funds can also improve the cohesive relation between the Employer and the community.
6. Organise the Community Health camps. for ex: Free Medical camp for Eyes.or even General Health Checks to the Villagers.
7.Raise to the occassion at the time of floods or anyother natural calamities and organise a voluntary service force from the Employer to the surrounding community shall pave a very good image in the eyes of the villagers.
I hope these things will create a good rapport between the HRD of the Company and the Local surrounding villages with faith.
Kind Regards,
