Hi
I work as an HR for media company.
I have to conduct a monthly meeting with all the division heads to discuss mainly manpower issues. Till date all decisions are taken individually by them. since I joined I want everything to be streamlined through HR.
Please guide me on what all matters can be discussed in such monthly meetings. for eg. transfers, performance awards, training needs, low delivery of any part emp,.
But I want inputs on what more areas can be discussed in particular. I need to prepare an objective & agenda and process for the same.
Regards
Saj

Greetings,

Request you to consider few areas within the company before you make any suggestion.
  1. Please note down the top three business goals, on the priority order they are to the business.
  2. Connect those goals with HR function, service and offering
  3. Check the bandwidth to deliver on them, plan and set an internal standard for delivery.
  4. Discuss it with your reporting manager on this preparation and ask for guidance.

Thereafter start the HR initiative and share it in monthly meetings.

For eg:
  • The priority for the employer might be 'to emerge as the preferred employer within the industry'.
  • It may also be 'to increase the productivity of the workforce'.
  • Now connect these goals to HR functions such as creating a word of mouth for the employer by making the employees a brand ambassador. You may decide on other feasible process as applicable to the capabilities in your team.

You may also, include the updates about the training sessions that you take within the team for increased efficiency and knowledge sharing.

Wish you all the best !

Regards,
