Hi, I have been working as a software engineer. I have resigned around a month before due to health issues (physically and mentally). I have requested my organization to release me quickly as am not able to concentrate on the work properly. I am doing tasks very slow hence I requested them for early release so that I can take some time off from the work pressure and keep myself in peace. I worked slow and the task was not moving, I tried but was not able to complete it but they felt I am doing this deliberately and kept LOP regularly.

But even after submitting the doctor's certificate the company doesn't believe it and asked to work on more tasks, want me to complete them before I leave. I asked them to take responsibility for my health if somethings happens as they're pressuring me to work more, some tasks are not even committed by me but they keep saying that it is a committed task. I pressurized them for releasing me as am not in a state to work well because I didn't have the choice to make them understand but soon I apologized to them after they get offended and told me they'll terminate me, will not say good about me if some verification comes as well hence I told them I will complete my notice period and will give my best but still they told if the tasks are not completed/ they felt am not doing the tasks they will cancel my resignation and will ask to work further.

I felt helpless and think my career is over possibly. I got an offer through but am not sure I can join them in this scenario as either my company will terminate/ will ask to work more. I am not able to get good sleep, be happy with this issue going on around me. Is there a fault on my side? Or there is a way to come out from this issue and still go well in my career?

Thank you!

I think you are unduly worrying, that is creating more and more work pressure and you have reached near the breaking point. You want to be relieved honourably by the existing organisation but instead of helping they are only adding more problems, that is what you feel. As outsiders to the whole issue, we are unable to really fathom the work situation. But it is not looking to be a hopeless situation, indeed with a little more planning and effort probably you will be able to navigate all these troubles.
First of all don't think of an alternate employment now. You need some rest and time for recuperation before you venture out.
Next try to finish the ongoing assignment and say a firm NO to any additions thereon. Try to reason out with the bosses, don't loose hope. They are trying to pressurise you to work more in trying to squeeze you. You will have to reason out and express plain helplessness. Share your feelings and apprehensions with others.
You will see some light at the end of the tunnel and try to capitalise.
