Hi,
I have been working in a company from 2.7 Years. The company has hired me for the position of Admin executive after 3 Month they had shifted me in Sales & Administration in which the major part was back office sales, then after a year they had implemented S.A.P. in the organisation. For which company handed over the responsibility to set up SD module. When i actually got interest in sales an administration they had again shifted me in Credit Control section (Recovery). I had words with my director but they are forcing to be in that department only. So at last i had resigned from the job last month, Now they had deducted my one month salary. Please suggest is this a right way that my company had act.

Dear friend
With u r letter i came to know that they does not like you to work in their concern. But they do not want to say it. So that they shifted to you from Admin. Again they were not satisfied your work and further shifted from that dept to another which shows they does not like you. This is management sign. Any how u decided to resign and done it. But you should careful about your one month notice and you should work one month. but you failed which gave way to them to recover one month notice period. It is correct on their side.
Please do not worry and do not feel this. Try to get the reason and try to change your nature of job

Hi Ambika,
If you decided to resign then you should give one month notice and you have to work one month. If you are unable to give one month notice. in case company can deduct your one month salary...
It was also mention in your appointment letter.. please read your appointment letter....

Adhere to your Appointment letter. or get it interpreted by the HR before accepting the offer or while resigning. Indian Employers are great at deductions & harassment > but poor at sympathizing.

Hello Ambika,
I think you should not blame company fully. because company may felt that you are the eligible person to transfer into other dept. They may have the confidence that you can do it.
When they decided to transfer you for the first time why you not objected? suppose we can say that you agreed that because of good faith.
But when again they decided to transfer you why you not objected?
If you dont want to do adopt habit of saying No.
If you have not served notice period then you have to pay notice pay to the company. I dont think company has taken any wrong decision.

Hi,
Working with any of the company's internal departments is your choice. if u r not satisfied with ur job, u can resign with serving one month notice period the salary for the notice period will be processed as per the monthly salary is done or may included Full n final payment. (depend on the company policy)
if u don't serve the notice period the company has the right to waive off one month salary against ur notice period.

Hii Alphonse,
Let me clear the whole scene actually my organisation is satisfied with my work they had shifted me to various department since my director says that Ambika is having a good grasping power & she can handle various things in one time. They had awarded me with best employee of the year-12. They had shifted me in recovery as after implementing S.A.P the outstanding of the organisation was messed up, they had deputed me to clear the outstanding (which is a finance part)with the help of the 6 employees of that department who had created the mess. But when i shifted in recovery section within a month they had resigned one by one & only one of my colleague was left with director\'s wife. They had pressurized me to clear the mess within a month by late hour stay in the office without any overtime & including sunday. I am not a finance person as had done my MBA in - HR with an experience of 6.5 Years. I am not a fresher that the company would not like my work.
And regarding

Hi Ambika,

I suggest you please read and understand the appointment letter.

1) You would be required to work for any of the department / role as per the business requirement / as per the management decision.

2) You are required to serve a notice period as per the company norms, normally 1 month.

3) When, you are unable to serve the notice period, company may consider you as absconding and hold your resignation or forfeit the notice period charges and consider as resigned. It is completely company's discretion.

Now, I understand, sometimes, with newly established companies, as they are not really sure about the resource requirement in one of the project / department, they may ask you to move into another role, instead of losing any of the associate. This is completely on humanitarian grounds. I am not sure in your case. (Though, I strongly feel, the management tried in putting you into another departments only to check, if you would be productive in any of the roles available, instead of asking you to leave)

I suggest, whenever, you have an opportunity, try working in various roles, which gives you knowledge and helps in your career. However, this doesn't mean you need to change your major role. Be in your role and in part of your time, you can always support others, where, you get a chance of learning.

The above suggestion, though is not in line with your concern, it is only an input from myself for your professional growth.

Hope, you understand.......

Ambika, you seem to be a valued person in the organization. You are, perhaps, able to manage a variety of issues, not only from the HR viewpoint, but as a 'general management' key person. There is a need to be proud (not with ego!) of your contribution. As mentioned by you already, best employee of the year (2012) award has been conferred upon you. You surely deserved it & your management needs an applause for having selected the right person for the award.

No doubt, you have to work hard & put in extra effort, but you ought to be grateful to your organization to have given you all these opportunities. There is never an end to learning, and you are singularly lucky to have earned the trust of the management. No need, therefore, to feel frustrated by not having a defined job profile. Being an HR professional, with experience, you can create a Job Description for yourself & get the same approved by your management. Since you have the experience of Business Development (Sales) & SAP implementation, besides the HR, it may be worthwhile putting yourself in the role of 'Business Analyst' & creating a JD accordingly. This will add colors to your profile and make you a sought-after person as & when you decide to move on for better career prospects. It all depends upon you, how you look at yourself & how intelligently you cash on the opportunities which come your way. Best of luck!
