i am working in a company which very new, at the time of interview i was told that i would be joining as a HR manager and i got the offer letter for the same.
the company told me that for the first month i will be sitting on the front office because they have not hired any front office executive
i agreed to that, but now its been more than six months that i am sitting on the front office, and if i initiate a conversation for the same, they complaint that they have shortage of space.
also, nor i am handling any type of HR work, neither i am allowed to take interviews. adding to that they are handing me over the data entry work which i was not aware i would be doing. plus i get a scolding if i don't complete the data entry work, which is very strange
they are terminating employees without any warning letter, which is not the rule. (to mention i don't have any rights of HR being one.)
what step can i take in this situation?
please help!!!
TIA

Dear Friend
You did not mention in which organization you are working for. Generally, in any private sector undertakings, at the time of newly setting up process, this type of experience for any staff member is common. Though you were taken for HR position, your newly setting up organization might not have acquired the pledged status company. You should thing on these lines. One more issue is that you could not question the action of Management in terminating the services of some employees and it is not your head ache. If any one asks you about the legal complications arising out of such illegal termination of the services of any employee, then you can simply tell them that you are not discharging the function of HR. If there is not job satisfaction for you, try for another job in HR dept and leave this one. This is the only solution for you

Hi Shilpy
Suggest you look for another job right now.
You have sufficient reason to quit since the job profile they make you do now, bears no resemblance to what was given on your offer letter.
All the best.

Dear Shilpi,
Better late than never, in case as it is found a new establishment all these hiccups will be there yet, continuing in the same post is your decision. Better, find a place where you will get recognised.

Dear Friend,
This is a very common phenomenon , many people do not like their job profile
at times , even if committed by the management supported by appointment
letter , the best option left with you is to look for a job of your choice and
change at a appropriate time completing all formalities & statutes.
Warm regards,
