Hi,
We are facing problem in verifying salary of one candidate, before joining of the candidate we are doing cross check on his work history and HR of that company is verifying other details in mail except salary, on our request replying that they are "not providing verification on salary part." Now, our problem is how we can judge his salary part if his last employer is not verifying it.

Dear Friend,
Please get the salary credit particulars from the bank, or ask the employee salary credit statement, may be the accounting personal have the details of the employee, in that case better get the particulars from the department. Otherwise, ask the employee tax deduction particulars or form given by the employer of previous organisation for the tax deducted at source or tax payment particulars (Form 16A- where you will get the complete salary drawn for a year and tax deducted by the employer(the period may change))..
best of luck...

Dear Member You can ask for bank statement of last six months and also you may have an idea by asking an another or ex employee of the same organisation.

Apart from all suggestions given by learned members-what is the average industry salary for this profile?
Is there any wide variation in demand for salry?
Being in the industry,HR people do have a fair idea of what the previous employer could have been paying an employee with this qualification/experience etc.

Hello,
What's the Reference Doc you are using to verify the Salary--Salary Slip OR any other Doc?
However, I find "not providing verification on salary part" odd......did that Company give a jacked-up salary certificate to this guy that they don't want to get caught certifying officially? OR is there something else amiss?
Like other members suggested, Bank Statements are one way to verify. Form-16 data could be another.
However, IF you are in the IT sector, I am not sure Nathrao's suggestion about comparing with Industry data. IT salaries vary very widely across companies & locations for the same set of skills.
Why not speak to the CEO/MD of that Company? This could be another way.

Thanks to all member for prompt reply.
Candidate has submitted his salary slip and appointment letter too and on that basis we have hired the candidate without any further delay, we are an IT company and salary comparison will be little difficult.
we are quite surprise why previous employer is not verifying his salary slip or giving any comment on that. May be candidate is having some internal discussion or something like that.
Well we have discussed the same thing with the CEO and hired the candidate, asked to submit the bank statement as well, lets see what happened.
Thanks again for all your response.
