Dear Sirs/Madams.....
hope u all had a great Diwali.....
Regarding the problem.....
After completing my MBA in HR, I joined an organization in May,2011 as Officer-HR.so its almost 6 months now.....but in these 6 months I have hardly worked or learned something....almost 20 days of a month I sit idle....no work at all.....I am getting bored sitting idle almost everyday.
is it ok if I go for a job change now?
Pls advice what should I do???????

Hi Samyak,
Good you have a job, as far as learning, here the things do get tedious.
Instead of waiting for someone to give you assignment, ask for the same, help your colleagues in their work or do some research pertaining to your area of interest and that being beneficial to your organization.
Your career is at a stage where you have to take charge and focus energy on constructive thoughts.
I know its difficult but you have to take the first step.
In case you have already tried any of these let us know we will chalk out new ways to get you busy.

Dear Samyak

Let me try and relook at your situation...

1. You have a job which you got just after completing your MBA in HR.

2. The job is NO pressure stable job and you are not being made to sweat.

3. Your job as it stands now gives you enough bandwidth to learn, research on a proactive basis to improve your knowledge

Hmm... and u were saying about not learning and feeling bored...

Lets me ask you this...

1. How many processes that are followed in your organization are you aware of?

2. How many of them do you think needs improvement

3. what are those improvements

4. What other aspects would you like to change in your organization?

Answers to the above questions would give you an indication about what you have learned and how much thought has gone in. My speculative reaction to your situation is that you have been waiting for someone to come and tell you what to do / give you work. Successful people have never, never been reactive personalities. They have always been proactive. And that's what you need to do. Become proactive, observe, listen, understand, contemplate and act.

Job change is an absolute No, if you ask me.

As far as my knowledge even in spare time we can learn & understand many things about company & policy, on above that friends who posted are well explained,
