I want to make a policy of anti-harassment. What will be the ramifications of harassment to an employee?

Dear Twishika,

What type of harassment you are referring to? If it is "sexual harassment of women", then the law is well laid out which is PoSH.

However, every harassment may not be sexual harassment. It can be non-sexual harassment also. A victim can be of either gender. Nevertheless, defining what is harassment is difficult. To tide over this challenge, you may define "misconduct" on account of:

a) Unfair treatment
b) Discrimination
c) Conscious bias

To avoid harassment, you may create a "Policy on Equal Employment Opportunities". In this policy, you may define what is unfair treatment, what is discrimination and what types of biases a workplace may have and how to overcome them.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
