suppose an employee, because of his limitations, remain in the same position for a considerable period of time what will be the maximum limit of his salary? OR for how many years he can expect a normal increment?

The maximum limit of his salary depends on the salary grade structure, compa-ratio and range penetration of his job. And this maximum range can only be determined by the company's pay policy. As long as the job has yet to reach this maximum range, the jobholder can continue to receive normal increment, of course this must be subject to his job performance.

Dear Ms Jane
Thanks for the feed the feed back. Still it is a very tricky situation. the person who works as a cleaner, is with me for the last 18 years. I have been giving him an increment each year. Now he is drawing a salary more than his young, yet experienced, supervisors.
Only way is to continue this till he retires.
