Hi,
Call the employee and brief him about the separation process including 3 months notice and other requirements if any.
First find out what is plan of the employee with regard to notice. If he have plan of serving notice period then conclude the session formally. However if the employee is reluctant of serving notice period then explain him about the requirement of notice period and how it is important. If you have buyout option explain the employee about the same if he/she request for immediate relief. Just caution the employee about future BGV process and make him understand about the importance of notice period.
