Studying and gaining knowledge about labour laws and labour welfare would be useful to you. But to learn swimming, you need to be in waters as suggested by our friend. select a problematic company and work to gain real knowledge of Industrial relations. IR is not alone the labour acts but it is a mixture of people psychology, group dynamics, bargaining skills, win-win strategy and a lot more.

Dear Sir,

Let me attempt to give you an overall picture on the issue sought. Firstly, congratulations on deciding to study further. Not often do people get an urge to learn. If you read the course content thoroughly, it will give you immense knowledge on labour laws, especially if you're dealing with the subject as you can connect theory with practice.

Secondly the course will give a detailed perspective on all industrial and labour laws.

Thirdly,, most of the states have their own rules which provide for Welfare Officers in Factories. The respective State Rules provide for minimum qualifications for a person to be appointed as a Welfare Officer. One such qualification is a Diploma in Labour Laws from recognised institutions. Kindly ensure that get yourself admitted in such an institution. To give an example, the Tamil Nadu Factories (Welfare Officers) Rules, 1953 provides for an Annexure that contains a list of Degrees and Diplomas recognised for a person to be appointed as a Qualified Welfare Officer. The list of courses not only include full time courses but also distance education courses.

Best regards.

Dear Prajakta,
If you will do any of the course related to HR, this will give you theoretical knowledge only. Practical knowledge you will get at the time of Implementation. I have also done Diploma in Industrial relations and Personnel management. This course is extremely useful in advancement of your career. This course is really worth and you will get to know more about statutory compliance.
Thanks
