One of our employee who joined services on 1st July'08 but expired on 1st jan'09 in an accident while returning from his native place after the leave. He was drawing a Gross salary of Rs. 5125/- (3650 basic + 1565 HRA). Kindly let us know the procedure for claiming pension under ESIC scheme in such a case and also the quantum of money entitled to him. His family comprises of a wife and three children aged 9, 8, 7. The death occured 300 kms away from place of work.

His wife will not get any benefit from ESIC Because the accident occured while he was not on duty.his family will get only funeral expenses through ESIC.However his wife is entitle for pension through PF.
first of all you guide them that atleast they should take five death certificate.
his wife and two children will be entitle for pension.you cllect death case form from PF office.hias wife will get insurance amount through EDLI ALSO.

Kindly make specific that what kind of pension they avail. If it is from EPFO, the required certificates will be life certificate and non remarriage certificate. If so kindly contact the concerned Bank or PF authorities.
