Dear Friends
I want to know about responsibilities of HR Executive in hospital or pharma sector because recently I got the call from a consultancy in Mumbai they are looking for the position of HR Executive having experience in same sector(hospital) for a hospital in Bangalore then this query arises in my mind is HR work varies in different sectors like in real estate, hospital, phama, telecom, BPO/KPO/LPO etc? therefore just wanted to confirm about the responsibilities of HR Executive in hospital & in various other sectors.
As in my opinion the HR responsibilities (Recruitment & Selection, T&D, C&B, Statutory, Exit formalities, Payroll Mgmt. etc) are same in evey sector so what matters in hospital sector?
Kindly replyon this query as soon as possible!!
Waiting 4 ur rsponse!
Thanks

Dear Anu,
I am from health care sector too and be rest assured that the functions are exactly the same. It's a professional area and it doesnot change with the industry. Just keep in mind one thing, you have to adjust and be flexible according to the needs of the company.

Hi
Your query why do the consultancy asks for the people worked in same sector. This is because, they want people who have previous experience with the same sector and can handle the responsibilites well and does not require any formal training.
It reduces their costs and save time to train the particular employee in the relative sector. Lots of company / consultancies want candidates with the same background and experience (I mean with the same sector work experience.)
I have met with similar kind of situation while i was on search for job. My profile relates to Executive Secretarial, H.R. and admin.
Hope i have answered to your query to certain extent.

Hi Anu,
I am from hospital sector. See basic HR functions are same. In hospital sector it is difficult to work in time bound. there are three categories of employees medical, paramedical and non medical . Paramedical and medical people work in shifts and to manage their leaves and adjust duties, u should have some knowledge about the same profession. As all we know medical persons are still king in hospital industry, so sometimes it is difficult to impose HR Rules to them. In case of benefits, some of adiitional benefits like ICU benefits, OT benefits etc are applicable. If it is below 150 bedded hospital, most of the hospital managements look multi purpose. i.e both HR and hospital admn. If u have any specific doubts ask me

I have recently joined a mumbai based medical org. and i have given responsibility to construct new HR POLICY for org.
This is not a hospital.
As per current policy org. is having 6 full day working ,15 EL, 15 CL, all Sunday off, 7 Bank holidays including national Holidays in a year.
We have 2 type of staff 1. medical tech. staff (this staff having shift duties, 3 shift) 2. Back office.
Our working hrs for all staff is 81/2 to 9 hrs. including 1 hr. lunch time.
So can I proposed in policy for a 2 weekly off or half day working on 2 weekend in month? is there any legal guide line for that?
I request you to please guide me in making HR Policy.
