Hello,
I left from a job in a week 2 years ago without resigning. My relieving letter is in process from that organisation. They agreed to give me references. But the problem is I have references only from HR department as I didn't get any work during that period and my new organisation is requesting me to provide 3 references.
Should I give 3 references from HR department?

Using HR references is of little use. Can you not mention some persons who were the department head or your boss? You mentioned a gap of two years, there would be some persons whom you can quote as references for this period. At any rate, any recruiter would be curious to know what you were doing then. If nothing works then use HR references.
