Hi, Let me start from the beginning. I worked as a content writer in a small company for like 1 month and figured out that this is not what I want from my career then I thought to give "HR" a shot. So I started to give interviews and I got placed in consultancy. I worked here for 4 months and for some reasons like targets, environment etc I left this job few days back. I have figured out that I want to proceed with this HR thing only but I feel as if I do not have right opportunities in my hand right now. Therefore, I would like you guys to advice me accordingly.

I have done Bachelors with Honors in English from DU. As of now I am pursuing Masters in English from IGNOU. I am planning to do MBA in HR(Major) and Operations(Minor) from distance learning along with this I am planning to take some HR related training this summer.

P.S - Your advises/suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I would suggest that you first study and understand what HR function is all about. At this stage you are and will be a 'Learner' in HR function. So as you have planned take admission for MBA HR and simultaneously apply for junior level jobs in HR at ground level . Working for recruitment agencies will come along with Business Targets.Instead Apply for Fresher jobs wherein your previous 4 month recruitment experience can help you to bag a job.But first plan your career and then take further step. Your parameters for career planning can be as mentioned below :

1.Do you find the Functional area for career interesting.

2.Do you feel you will learn and demonstrate your skills required to be successful in it

3.Do you feel it is a Long term career for you where you can climb next levels of growth.

4. Are there any cross roads of multitasking available for future to be with changing business scenario.

Please ask these questions to yourself and study the functional area as to what it constitutes.

All the Best

Best Regards,

Sumeet

Start by building a strong foundation in human resources. Take classes and read books to gain a better understanding of the HR field. Additionally, get involved with professional associations like SHRM and participate in webinars and other online events. Networking is key - attend local job fairs, conferences, and workshops to make connections in the industry. Finally, stay up to date on the latest trends in HR and use that knowledge to create innovative solutions for your organization.
