Supervisor’s Induction (Orientation) Checklist
1. Word of welcome.
2. Explain over – all departmental organization and its relationship to other activities of the company.
3. Explain employee’s individual contribution to the objectives of the department and his starting assignments in the board terms.
4. Discuss the job contents with the employee and give him a copy of job description, if available.
5. Explain departmental training programs and salary increase practices and procedures.
6. Discuss where the employee lives and the transportation facilities.
7. Explain working conditions :
· Hours of work.
· Use of employee entrance and exit.
· Lunch Hours.
· Tea, coffee breaks.
· Personal telephone call and mails.
· Overtime policy and requirements.
· Pay days and procedure for being paid.
· Lockers.
· Others – safety habits and security regulations. E.g. Wearing uniform.
8. Requirements for continuance of employment – explain standards as to :
· Performance of duties.
· Attendance and punctuality.
· Handling confidential information.
· Behavior.
· General appearance.
9. Introduce new staff member to manager(s) and other supervisors (special attention should be paid by the person to whom this new employee will be reporting).
10. Release employee to immediate supervisor who will :
· Introduce new staff member to his colleagues.
· Familiarize the employee with his work place.
· Begin on – the – job – training.

This induction is normally planned by HR dept in my organization..
Every new member in our organization will be in HR dept for 2 days for Induction (basic rules and regulations) and procedures and to complete joining formalities. Then he/she send to particular dept for technical information and guidance.
