Dear all,
I am working with a leading construction company as Officer in P&A Dept. in one project site, and I have got total experience of three years in construction industry itself. As i wish to change my industry and want to quit construction field, when i discussed with some of seniors, they told me its really impossible to get into some other industry except construction as people from other industry dont really prefer construction industry's guys.
Please advise me should i continue with this job and keep on searching jobs or i should quit this job without further wasting time and start career again.
Please advice me.

Dear Sandeep,
What you have asked is advice on your career. Therefore, the subject heading of your post should have read "guidance needed on career planning" and not what you have given. You may read some write up on "succession planning".
If you wish to change your industry, well you can do so. Try with it. If you succeed, well and good. Till you get the new job continue with what you are doing.
Change of industry has its benefits. It will bring dynamism in your thinking. If you work in same industry, your thoughts become stereotyped. On the flip side entering in some new industry is no easy task. You have to understand the pulse of that industry and you have to learn the keywords and concepts of that industry. To do all this will require lot of learning attitude. Are you prepared for this?
All the best!

Dear Sir,
Thanks for your time and reply. I am prepared to learn things but things are going out of my hand, as in construction site we have to work for around 14 hours daily, and its really difficult to get time for studying.
Moreover i have attended two to three interviews where interviewer told that we really prefer to get people with manufacturing units' experience.
So please guide me how to go with this???
