How can one keep the documents of his previous employer after leaving his employment?
If he feels it justified, the past employer can equally feel justified to withhold a part of his salary in view of his unauthorized possession of the documents belonging to the establishment even after his exit.
Always, give and take is the quint-essence of any compromise between the disputants.
Therefore, it is better for both of them to avoid such attitude of tit- for-tat.
The poster may surrender the Employer's documents forthwith and claim the unpaid salary. If there is any refusal he may take appropriate legal action to recover his dues.
Similarly, the employer should disburse the dues to the ex-employee and insist on the immediate return of the documents in his unauthorized possession. If he fails, the Employer may initiate criminal action against him.
