I am working in a software company as a core HR. I joined as an HR Executive on November 2012. On the first day of my joining, I came to know that its" front office cum HR Executive" (I thought that as a fresher first I need to get experience so i adjusted for that) but I was not comfortable with the work I was asked to do. After 8 months I got promotion as a Core HR and my place was shifted from front desk and we recruited a new candidate for the front desk.
Now she (front desk) was terminated because of non-performance and management is not ready to recruit 1 more candidate it seems. They asked me to sit in front desk again but I am not comfortable with that and how can I shift to that position (does it not look like demotion?).
Please help me what should I do.

Hi I feel it is better to continue as the management feels. If at all there are no good HR practices you may have to wait till you get better job and then change the job.

Hi,
If you are handling other important profile, you should make all efforts to convince your management to take a chance & recruit someone at front desk. If your management is convinced, after recruitment you should closely mentor the new entrant so that he/she can perform to the expectation of the management.
Thanks,
