In UP 2 days lockdown is announced - I work in hotel industry - Will our salaries get deducted for that?

The instructions issued by the Central Government under the DMA,2005 hold good for every spell of lock down announce by the State due to Covid-19. The affected workmen are entitled to wages.

There is NO way that salary should be deducted like this now - just to suit business interests and goals. As far as COVID-19 pandemic is concerned - it really doesn't alter anything and salary structures are going to be same as originally agreed with you at the time of your hiring. It is illegal to deduct/ withhold salary like this.

Salary, in full or in parts, paying or not paying etc during the lockdown periods imposed from time to time as notified by central/state govts. still remains inclusive. Even the Supreme Court did not pass final judgment. In interim, there is no directions to employers to pay on the basis of notifications/guidelines issued by these govts. irrespective of whether units really worked or shut. It's been left to employers & employees to discuss for a mutually agreed propositions. As such there is no hope of getting paid for those days employees didn't work during lockdown. With no work turned out, no sales & no revenue, unless govts come out with financial assistance it's difficult for entities to pay up.
