I am working in a Software Development Company in Hyderabad as Manager - HR.
We are planning for Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes once in a year. Can anyone help me - suggest / list such programmes.
One aspect just to spend time and effort (preferably). Other aspect do the same with some contribution / donation.

hi, this is suruchi. I would like to suggest u like blood donation camp, awareness to donate eyes. also u can arrange awareness for woman and children of basic necessary habits by nearby village.

2) Ask each(1 or 2) employee to adopt a Student & take care of his education till a particluar level.
3) Adopt a Family - Take care of their medical expenses for a Year ( Group 3 to 5 Employees)
4) Adopt a School - Modernise, refurnish & also can take classes on Updated Technologies at their level.
5) Tailoring, Computer, Mobile Phone Servicing can be given to Girls/Housewives

Dear Padmaja,
Today we know that the usage of polythene bags have tremendously increased and this is creating lot of pollution hazard and also causing trouble in various . Inspite of knowing this hazard still we are finding it diffcult to avoid this . You can also plan on this lines by spreading the awarness to avoid using the polythene bags. Further donation to Orphange , donation of Blood can be taken up.

Hi,
In Our company we use to celebrate World Aids Awareness Day at one local NGO. This is for HIV affected childrens & people. We celebrate 1st December as their common birthday. We contribute some amount & buy toys for childrens & gifts for people. Besides this we provide dinner to them. We are doing this since last three years.
They use to wait for that day for every year.
You can also do like this.

Corporate Social Responsibility is a vast area. Instead of thinking of big expenses, why don't you start from the scratch?
1. Since you work in an IT company, you can distribute your old computers to village schools/ other NGOs/ Orphanages/ etc. There are lot of poor kids that did not even see the computers in this age.
2. Try to visit some slums or colonies or try to contact a few NGOs that functions based on slums and find out intelligent kids and try to sponsor their education collectively or from the company itself.
3. Periodically arrange of organizational visits/ NGOs/ Poor Homes etc with your employees so that they will have an idea about the poor class in the society they live with.
4. When the academic year begins, you can find out kids and distribute the study materials.
5. Once in a while you can make visits to Hospitals where chronic patients are treated. If you find that they are financially marginalized, you can give your helping hands to them. Ensure that they are poor before your start helping them.
6. Why dont you celebrate your companies anniversary/ birthday party/ marriage anniversay/ etc in an orphanage.
Think you will get thousands of ideas. I am from Trivandrum, I dont exactly know the situation in Hyderabad.
