Dear Respected members of this community,
I have a question and hopefully it's valid and hopefully I will receive some genuine answers from the senior members of this community.
I have a UAN no which is not linked to Aadhaar. I know there are some facilities I'm deprived of due to non-linking of Aadhaar. But my query is different.
Suppose the subjudice matter of mandatory Aadhaar linking decision goes in favor of GOI and Aadhaar becomes mandatory to be linked with UAN can I take a stance that I'll not link it.
Because as per Aadhar act,2016 since GOI is giving 1.16% of my basic from their consolidated fund they are supposed to ask me to link my Aadhar, but what if I don't want that money from GoI? Can I opt out of linking Aadhar? I know when I became a member of EPF automatically I became a member of EPS and Aadhar linking is mandatory for EPS. But like any other subsidy or welfare schemes in this country I should have the choice to opt in or out of it. I can claim LPG subsidy I can opt out of it, why can't I opt out of that 1.16% of govt money?
I can't opt out of it, and therefore I have to share my Aadhar, isn't it forceful submission? Shouldn't I have a choice?
I'm telling again that I very well know the facilities come along with the linking, so please don't tell me about the facilities. My only concern is related to this forceful submission.
I would like to hear some genuine understandings from the senior members.

Dear Friend,
You have not given any strong reason for not linking Adhar with UAN. The linking is mandatory, irrespective of any reason, you do not have a choice. So go with it.

Apart from EPS Scheme there are numerous members who have 2-3 UAN activated for the company they are joining, hence to avoid duplication the GOI have initiated this drive wherein the members will be forced to have one UAN only till he/she retires. Hope this clarifies your query, apart from the above if you will not link your aadhar then you will be deprived from withdrawing the EPF amount too in the near future.

@MR. Bharat Gera,
Isn't right to be left alone come under right to privacy? Why should I have a reason? I don't need to give any justification to the govt as to why I don't want to link my Aadhar with my UAN. GoI is saying to be part of the welfare schemes I have to part away my Aadhar no, if I don't want to be part of a the welfare scheme why I should I give my Aadhar. And I have a right to be left alone now.
Everybody is doing something doesn't mean I too have to do that.
@Mr. SAJI,
I completely understand that in future I will face hurdles in terms of withdrawing my EPF amount if I don't link it now. But that means I have a choice. My only concern is the govt can't force me if I don't want. I know it's for greater good but I don't want subsidy, I don't want govt money to be deposited in my EPF account. I don't want to be part of these welfare schemes then why the govt is forcing me to link my Aadhar with the UAN. And to find duplicate UANs there are several ways to do that - adding pan card or bank account may ensure that none has more than one UAN. Everybody has more than one bank account, but all accounts are linked to PAN. So in this way the system can check it periodically and make sure nobody has more than one UAN.
See, I have not linked my Aadhar yet because my organization has not asked for it yet. But my query is when I don't want something from you why are you forcing me to give you something which is required in order to get it. When I don't want that 1.16% of govt money why the govt is forcing me to give my Aadhar which is required to get that money?
I hope my query is more clearer now.

Dear Mr Ananmika, The Govt of India has not forced you to take up Employment. You have taken up Employment on your Own.By virtue of Employment, you have become member of EPF.Consequently, All EPF/EPS Members have to link their Aadhaar Number. Please let me know how this will violate your privacy Rules?has anybody used any force against you? Please come to the mainstream.About 120 Crore Aadhaar Numbers have been already issued. Please do not make issues out of trifles. If you have valid argument put up the same before appropriate forum, this is not the forum to put up your argument.

Yes I know this is not the forum. And I'm sorry for making this point here. However let me tell you right to employment is another right that I enjoy as an indian citizen. But when I don't want my name to be included in a welfare scheme then govt can't force me to be a part of that scheme. I earn nearly a lakh rupees per month so I'm not from the poorer section of this society. The only fault that I made was I joined EPF when I started my career early on without knowing it's future hidden implications ( that I cannot opt out of it ever). Now GoI is providing me some token amount to my EPF account every month and for that I have to submit my Aadhar. My only question was isn't it forceful submission? I know 120 cores Aadhar have already been generated and I also do posses an Aadhar since 2010. I linked my Pan card with Aadhar in order to file ITR. I linked it with all my bank accounts, but why should I link it with UAN when I don't want GoI to credit some meagre amount to my EPF account every month. In any social welfare scheme there is a provision and that is if you want this you have to give Aadhar but in case of epfo it's weird. I don't have a choice, I am forcefully a member of EPF now, I'm forcefully supposed to take certain amount from govt and eventually I'm supposed to link my Aadhar. I'm not fussing about it out of some triffles. I'm not understanding two things that everyone in this community who have participated in this discussion so far have come up with.
1. Everybody is doing it I have to do it ( Atleast that's the tone)
2. I have become a member of EPF so even if I don't want govt welfare I have to take it forcefully and for that I have to give my Aadhar.
This is my argument. Don't I have a choice on this? Can't I have a choice? Is it too much I'm asking?
In a democratic country like India I should have a right to ask Why. And that's what I'm doing. What you are suggesting is preportourous - 120 cores Aadhar have been issued. So what? I got my Aadhar back in 2010. So what? I linked it to every possible thing because I want to continue the related services like ITR, bank accounts, mobile ph. If I don't link Aadhar I can't avail these facilities. But in case of epfo I don't want govt money. I only want my money and the money given by my private employer. That's it. Why should I link my Aadhar then?
And for your information I also have a right to choose what I want what I don't unless I'm a law abiding citizen of this country.
Unfortunately I'm deeply hurt seeing these replies where people are asking me what's my problem in linking Aadhar with UAN. I don't have any problem doing so. But I don't want govt money so why should I do that?
I still expect a genuine ans from the revered members of this community who actually can tell me why should I do that when I don't want that benefit.

@ Mr. Sai Ram
I forgot to tell you ine more point. For EPF and eps I don't need to link my Aadhar. As per Aadhar act, 2016 since govt is crediting 1.16% of my basic maximum upto Rs. 6500 to my EPF account I'm supposed to part away my Aadhar no. What government is saying that since they are giving this money from consolidated fund of India I have to give my Aadhar. And here lies my question. I don't want this money from the consolidated fund of India. This is a welfare scheme and I don't want to be part of that.
So it's not like that since I'm member of EPF and eps I have to give Aadhar. Please understand the technicalities before committing.

It is your choice whether you want to link aadhar to your EPF account, its not forced to anyone the only thing is that you may lose your hard earned money. It may be meagre for you.
With regards to linking bank account with EPF you only have answered your question that many of them are having more than one bank account.
Last but not the least even many people have more than one PAN card, because I have seen especially ladies after marriage does not amend their existing PAN card but go for a new, because it cost nothing.
Rest is all your choice how to be a part of Better India being an Indian citizen.

@ Mr. SAJI,
Thanks for this clarification in regards to Aadhar linking. See I'm ok with Aadhar linking as I have already linked it with so many other things. But my question was why force me. As I have already explained I need mobile connection so I linked it with Aadhar. I need to file ITR so I linked it with PAN, but I don't need 1.6% of my basic so why should I link Aadhar.
However I have no issue doing that. But what I have understood from your last post is I do have a choice whether to link it or not. And that was my concern that I should have a choice in all these.
Being a citizen of India I have some responsibilities so I know it's better if I become a part of it but I wasn't comfortable with the conception of forceful submission.
Anyway thanks for your clarification.

People talking about personal privacy would never question when they go to so-called western countries like US which uses SSN for all transactions.
Coming to requirement submission of Aadhar for EPS, Act is defined the pension earnings based on the salary and service period. Hence pension calculations are same for all the employees an can't be separated by taking out 1.16% GOI contributions to the pension fund. More over pension fund is a pool fund. GOI Contributions are not only on 6500 but actual EPS wages to the extent of INR 15000.
