Dear Monika,
The employee relations depend on the fulfilment of the needs of the employees. Therefore, your No 1 priority should be to find out whether their needs are fulfilled or not. But then how will you do it? It can best be done by conducting the "Employee Satisfaction Survey". However, to conduct this survey, a support from the management is required. Management of not many companies are interested to do this.
The another method is to conduct the "Stay Interviews". Just yesterday, I have given my comments on this subject. You may click here to here those.
All said and done, the employee relations depend on the healthy interpersonal environment of the company. Have you conducted any survey on this subject? Bringing a healthy interpersonal environment is no easy task. It can be done with the years of efforts.
Thanks,
