My query is regarding Workmen Compensation Act facility available in case of Accidental or Disablement loss arising out of employment. As ESI coverage limited to 21000.00 INR as per recent amendment , If employees are not covered due to this Slab then what should be the mode of compensation - WCA or Can we go with Any Group Insurance ?
Looking for valuable input on this case...
Regards

If I remember correct, the W.C.Insurance Policy is an unnamed Insurance Policy covering any one engaged on specific jobs having accident risk as mentioned in the Policy Document. Therefore, it is also a type of group insurance policy covering particular no. of employees engaged on particular groups of activities for which insurance is taken. Since settlement of claims or disputes of claims is speedier and easier, in my opinion, WC Insurance Policy is better where the provisions of ESI Act are not applicable.
