Hi Mahima,
Relax. Be cool yaar. Always remember that "For every problem there is a solution".
Changing behaviour entirely lies in your hands and its simple. Iam attaching a PPT on Commmunication Skills and also a Ebook "How to develop Self Confidence". This is a must. You have to increase your self confidence to achieve whatever you want. Just go through it and post your queries here. Try to practice what you read in this site. If someone has sugested you to read english dailies, start reading them. Watch English News channel, take regular notes of the new words you come across and increase your vocabulary. Once you have strong vocabulary start using it.
The initiation matters. take the first step and always take one step at a time. Do not expect FAST results and dont believe if anyone promises you overnite results in improving communication skills.
All the best.

Hi Mahima,
First of all no need of any guilt because if nobody will tell mistakes so how will we improve ourself. so always BE HAPPY
I read your query and read both answer too. Both suggestions are exactly right. I would also suggests that you should pay proper attention to your grammar first and use new words regularly in speaking ( don't think what will people think ?? when u speak ) & whether you have free time so try to write about some topics. It will surely improve your communication & writing in english & There are a lot of letter formats available on internet for help to write official letters. One more thing which i would suggest that always treat according to enviorment. if any help for me so don't be hesitate to ask.

hi mahima,
see first of all understand one thing.......no one is perfect in this world...you will try t change yourself i know that....but you have to be patient in that......
see whatever decision you take or whatever change one tries to get in his / her life....the results will come a bit late....but you dont have to worry...just keep trying to change yourself.....
and ya see how other write mails......try writing mails to your friends and ask them that if there is any corrections needed in it.....you can learn like this only...
also i would suggest you to buy a book called :You Can Win" by Shiv Khera......it will change you completely.....your way of thinking.....your personality....etc..

hi Mahima,
if anyone reads what you posted, it gives the same impression. you are still behaving like a college girl.
this is not your mistake. the communication system has changed a lot. you, the younger generation are used more to SMS, chat, etc, where the receipant also understands and communicates in the same way. in your post, have you observed how many full stops, comas, and space between the words / sentence are put.
from the contents of your post, your english is good.
now, my advise to you is, continue the same way. always use simple words, small sentences which is easily understood. do not try to get changed overnight.
your head should rule over your heart. have patience and confidence in you. whenever and wherever you type (except SMS & chat), even in this site, try to put your thoughts calmly and clearly.
can everyone of us see a simple but clear posting from you thanking all of us for the advise and support?

Mahima!

Don worry! okay

even i faced the same problem. But later i changed.

you know how?

SEE

1. Firstly, save the mails which you are getting from your senior level and other where you find it very good in communication.

2. Second thing read clearly those mails, definetely you will know almost all the words in those mails but the thing is you dont know how to use it properly, thats it.

3. Now come to an idea and start writing mails on word document and use Thesaurus there suppose ( for ex: the word "Choice" --- u can substitute it as "Opt") this is simply you can use Thesaurus(press shift+F7) like anything. But remember one thing please dont go for difficult words to substitute which you dont know really.

4. Now read it once again you will definetely come to know some changes, do those changes and add some wordd like kindly, please, like that but becareful here your mail doesnot show much pleasing without any matter like okay.

5. Now you can copy the same thing and send it to them.

6. The last thing is make sure the mails which you are sending should be in same font unless and until something in that is important becoz tht gives nice impression even though you carry small small mistakes, okay and other thing when you are sending to superiors please dont do for shortcut words.

Hope this is helpful toyou

And let me know if you want anything further.

Most of the recommendations conveyed above are excellent. Please follow them, I am sure they will help.
In particular, Raghav's inputs are very useful.
Also, CiteHR has copies of letters that are commonly used in the HR field. Get a copy of the set for future reference. M. Sidhoo will give you the CiteHR reference, I am sure.
Lots of luck.
