In reality, we play many roles in a day, in our lives. It will be extremely difficult if we mix business with pleasure. A line must be drawn, or else it will effect not only business in dollars and cents, it spells chaos a the office,not to mention an already upside down family life.
Such attitude must not be tolerated at work, and I believe no staff is indispensable too. Extra marital affair is a sin of inadequate self respect, inability in handling personal crisis and an easy way out of facing and confronting personal problems. If, at home, it is already a disaster and one is incapable in controlling wreaks, it will seep at work.
Thus, from a HR practitioner point of view, action as per company's guidelines must be adhered. Absenteeism (mc) out of this can call for verbal/warning letters.Company's decision should be made based from a business point of view,and any transfer for that matter should not be based on an employee's unprofessional attitude.
We are bounded by culture,yes,as a husband/wife,our responsibilities expand to a duty of a son/daughter, a father/mother,uncle/auntie, friends and workers.When we get lost in the many roles we play,we loose our balance.

Tend to agree with Mr Kumar’s views. However in such situations, do show them the door. It is the Organisation which is paramount and not individuals.

THere is no standard reply to such issue because fact and circumstances of each case differs from one another. Moreover HR has nothing to dowith privacy of other people whether its extrmarital or illicite relationships until unless that brings to disrepute to the organization or harm the business of the company or work culture and become fatal for other colleagues in the company.

We have to be sure that as an individual everyone has privacy and private life and we HR professional has no authority to influence or direct the freedom of others its between parties concern to keep the balance and do away from workplace withour creating nuisance at the work place.

Dear All

I have randomily reading the views, all most everyone have same view that HERO shouldnt be transferred to Mumbai. One vote from my side for the same answer.

I was suprised to read some of the views like when this have to discussed shameful act for our culture. My questions are do we really have to put blindfold on issues like extra martial affairs..i think its wrong. When we talk about team building and interpersonal skills it only that the performance of employee should go up and its win win situation for both company and employee. Under these circumstance both the person is affected result low performance and sometimes it lead to unpleasant events like sucide, murder or like HERO's wife walking in the office and creating a huge scene. Tell are these things not effecting everybody in the office.
Instead of putting ban on talking these kind of situation lets work on how we can deal with situations. Every induction training employees should be given a session how to balance the personal and professional life or may be there should be certain day celebrate where the family members of the employees should be invited to the office. I have come up with these two suggestion and i am sure we have so many people who can come up with new ideas and views about it.

ok coming to this......dont entertain such people......its a professional organization......and these kind of gossips are not good to ur set up....throw them both if out of hands....send warning signals to everyone....now tht it has spreaded out u need to take bold decision.......

my personal opinion is that the things are required to be solved in a very professional manner.. because employees as well as their well being is closely associated with the company equally...they should be given professional counselling no matter if we need to take the help of a marriage counsellor or a practising psychologist to make things clearer for the couple,as well as for the people going outside wedlock...because this is more important for them to actually realise their stand on things and relationships... these things are cropping up very frequently as the society is advancing and interactions are increasing day by day..its not only the matter of these two individuals in a relationship but is the matter of all who are lined up in the queue and will be noticed frequently.. so a proper plan of action is required to maintain and resolve such matters...so that in future precedents established can be followed harmlessly.... an organisation cannot fire the hardworking employee just on the grounds of his/her association with a person..even if it can,this is not the solution ..this is just an attempt to avoid the matter.. but for how long and with how many??????

Company should make efforts towards the betterment of things and even if it does not work out, the employees should be given straight and stern directions to observe proper code of conduct and behave very professionally and not exhibiting their association with whom so ever inside professional environment...

I strongly suggest you Don"t transfer that Male employee to Mumbai since your Company will fall in trouble if you transfer him to Mumbai. In case he wants to resign and go to Mumbai, it will be different issue and it will be his own problem.
