Well said Venkatesh. As a HR Manager, we are finding it difficult to retain the tallent and experienced.
Where as the discussion is replacing experiend with freshers. However, this is also in a way good debatable topic.
Mine is orthodox age old company. Their communication skills, ideas, presentation is rather poor obviously since they are stuck with one company for the last 10-15 years, especially this type of age old companies.
It is so natural to feel these guys are not improving and poor in many aspects. This is more when business is going down. HOWEVER, we find this is entirely wrong.
For example, we have one Manager-Accounts who has completed his B.Com (not even qualified for manager's post) and working with this company for the last 10-15 years. He knows in and outs of the company. We all know his communication skills are poor and he lacks team work, and sometimes even plays politics. However, to replace him, even a fresh Chartered Account demands Rs.20-30 thousand p.m. Despite we bring such a candidate, we are not sure what will be his performance. We tried and failed also. We took a stand not to experiment and replace the existing ones unless we are hundred percent sure that the new comer is so tallented, proven and this old guy is really useless and headache.
What is the exact remedy is not to replace these old guys. Answer is how to rejuvenate these experiend people and improve their communication skills and involve more in teams.

Currently we are becoming a total foreinger so even we have hire and fire ...................but people donot think that india can never be changed because the people living in India are emotional in all the things and are also attached with their work.......so pls dont demotivate the person and let him down in his own eyes by just removing the experienced person to bring the new ones. :oops:

At the outset I must say that this is an interesting topic and a very relevant one at that.
An organisation consists of experienced and inexperienced people, old and young people, people with old fashioned ideas and so on. It is incorrect to say that all experienced people are old fashioned and resistant to change. I know of many experienced persons who have changed with the times and have kept themselves abreast of the latest goings on. Certainly, all companies have to be forward looking, especially in this time and age, and there is no place for people who cling on to sentiments of yesteryears.
I believe that experienced people are an asset to the organisation for obvious reasons, but they must change with the times - if they don't, I am afraid that they may have to be moved out. This is especially true in new age industries where things are changing at a rapid pace and whoever cannot cope gets left behind.
I hope that I have been able to throw some light on the topic in question.

Replacement is not a solution infact it can be a wrong way in processing. You could the nuances of the process understood by a senior person withing the organization rather than a new entrant. Its much feasible to empower an employee and the get best of him that will surely add to the business. New employees should be allowed with a company but not as a replacement, he will surely have some brimming ideas and the fire in the belly but we just cant rule out the fact that they could be replaced and the business will reach new heights. i felt ,this is certainly very true that their should be a combination of old employee and the new ones .As their life is very experienced , so they have the right temperament to give right decision on the up coming situations , i feel the fresher should listion properly and learn from them .the fresher should not loose the temperament .

I feel that from a company's view its good to hire for new persons because they can adapt to new environment easily and it is as simple as we all wanted new good players to come on Indian Cricket team for a good life of our future Indian team .
In the same way a concern has to look for its life which is good for their future too.

I am agree with the views of Sari. In these days there are termendus changes in Industrilization. Although old employees have vast experience but they dont have proper knownledge about new machinery, Industrial relations and other related factors due to their education result they cant handel everything properly. The only way is give them proper training but the management or we can say high level authority would not like to spend money and their valueable time for training on old employees so they think to carry business with new employees. Because in these days there are lots of institutes they are providing good education to students. They are giving education according to requirement and in these days the students are also very intelligent they can think high than old people. So I think this is the main reason to replace old employee with new one.
