Dear Friend's,

It's good to see that so many of you are looking forward to make your career in HR. Kindly go through my Career Path Below, May be this will be of any help for you.

>> 2005 to 08 - Completed B.Sc Electronics (full time) from Andhra University with distinction. While pursuing B.Sc, I worked with one of the electronics manufacturing company, but not of much interest. So shifted to Insurance Company worked as Financial Advisor, earning somewhere 25k a month.

>> 2008 - Appeared for MAT, scored 88 percentile. Joined Andhra's top university and opted MBA, still confused with the stream to choose. In first year, participated in many activities, it can be said that I was never sat in classroom. Moving around the campus for various activities, accomplished various tasks, brought 35 sponsors in 8months.

>> 2009 - This was the year when the effects of recession was increasing, everyday we're getting news of so many peoples got fired or sacked. More than 1000 peoples committed suicide, this was the time I decided to opt for HR and first year was successfully over and got myself registered for HR.

This is the year, when I got an opportunity to witness International Conference. Not only that, I was the only one who got selected for the paper presentation, from the whole university. It was a wonderful experience, I learned many things and delivered many. Later in the same year, I became a leader of Hospitality team for an event.

>> 2010 - Happiest moment of my life, we all got cleared. Everyone of us came out with flying colors. But the sad thing was no had placements, the reason was Recession. So, once again we formed a committee where everyone of went to most of the employers and reputed companies. And the result was 25 companies turned up for campus selection and 82% was the placement.

But I was not happy coz, there were no placements for HR, but still I was happy for my friends most of them got offer of 35k. I took a very hard decision, came to Mumbai in search of job in HR. Got selected in a consultancy as a Recruitment Consultant at 8k a month. Not happy with the salary but atleast now I have a path achieve my goal.

>> 2012 - Today, working with one top consultancies in Mumbai. Now my job profile has become very vast, now I am handling 2 company's (as client) HR Department. I mean to say that I am handling their complete HR Department, for them I am the HR Manager. And today my salary is around 45k+

This is my story of success. Don't get dis-heartened, just go for your dream.

Also remember, today everyone is going for MBA. It's just like a Pan Shop on every street. The only thing which differs is the college / university and how much effort you put. MBA is not a course or a something like a classroom study kind of. It's a professional back-up which helps you to qualify to sit in a interview but doesn't help you to crack it. I would suggest that opt for any HR courses but remember this is something which you can't study in class. Get yourself involved in number of activities. Look for what's happening around, go conferences or if get a chance present a paper in conference, Go for public speaking or addressing. Remember MBA is not a study it's to develop your skills.

Best of Luck

Ashish Kumar
