Dear Ritika and other members of the forum,
This is my 1801st contribution in this forum. In fact, I wanted to thank you all on the eve of 2014 but regret to see counter responses/comments and appreciations to such counter responses/comments even after I have provided the answer with the help of provisions of the Law verbatim.
In my response to the query by Ritika, I not only cited the provisions of the Law but also asked her to put herself in the shoes of an employee and questioned whether she would accept the leave salary at basic only. However, there is still a differing view on my response, which was appreciated by Ritika.
I do not argue against having a different view, but the differing view should have some support, at least when the previous response/answer is supported.
Thank you.

Dear Moderators / Administrators of the Forum, It would be appreciated, instead of removing certain posts from the threads if you bring the discussions to correct conclusion.

Dear Mr. Keshav,
Happy New Year, Sir!
We have always appreciated the way you have responded to queries. I am new to the HR system, so it takes some time to understand laws and provisions. Still, I am sorry if my responses have hurt you.
Regards,
Ritika

Dear Ritika ji,
Thank you for your New Year greetings, to which I reciprocate.
I will not blame you. You are the questioner. You initiated the query, and the members have to give answers or solutions to it. Ours is an open forum in which any member can give their views. The views given by any member may or may not be correct.
However, when a member provides an answer that logically seems correct and is supported by some evidence, one should accept it unless they have evidence to the contrary. Moderators should play their role in bringing discussions to a correct conclusion, which unfortunately is not always done. Therefore, a member like myself feels that they are simply wasting their valuable time.

Dear Seniors,
Kindly advise on the following case.
MONTHLY gross SALARY (e.g.)
BASIC - 3000
DA - 14500
HRA - 2000
CONV. ALLOW - 1500
PERS ALLOW - 300
INCENTIVE - 6000
In our office, leave encashment is given on Basic and DA only. If an employee is on leave, no deduction is made. Only the Incentive amount is deductible during their leave.
Could you please advise if the above procedure is correct or not?
