Well said, sir! But if a national holiday falls on a Sunday, what do we need to do? I understand we cannot omit it as it is a national holiday. Should I record it in Form VI? Also, we are required to provide leave with wages, but since Sunday is already a holiday, should I still provide wages for that day? Is it a liability?

There is a National Festival and other Holidays Act available in Google search. Every establishment and factory has to obey the following national festivals, which are compulsory for all:
1. January 26th - Republic Day
2. May 1st - International Workers Day
3. August 15th - Independence Day
4. October 2nd - Gandhi Jayanti
5. December 25th - Christmas
These are compulsory holidays for all workers, meaning leave with pay. If you make a worker work on any of the above holidays, you have to pay double wages for the day. Additionally, there are another 3 festival days as holidays as wished by the company, but it should be decided by the Zonal Labour Commissioner of the state government.
