Thanks for the compliments. In fact none of the questions of the interviewers are irrelevant. Some object is always hidden behind that to test the knowledge of the candidate to judge whether on appointment he or she would prove to be helpful or not in some complex situations.

There are many ways in responding to a query and its upto the respondent how he perceives the world. Even the INTERVIEWER(HR) should have courtesy to explain the process, if the APPLICANT has no idea about the query asked. Don't expect APPLICANT to have every information on hand else he would have been in a better position.

I have no idea why you people are reacting in a foolish way. Everyone has right to respond at their will. Check the way IIM's are responding to such queries. For your kind information, there are many queries raised by HR which are TRULY IRRELEVANT and has got nothing to do with the HIRING PROCESS.

Having knowledge about the APPOINTMENT and REMOVAL of DIRECTORS is different from the CURRENT PRACTICES happening in many organisations. In most of the organisations, HR is not allowed to involve in any of the BOARD MATTERS, as it is taken care by the COMPANY APPOINTED LAWYER and CA.

Those who had worked in organisations, are having better information/knowledge and bitter experience than those who are offering their services as CONSULTANTS.

A lot of thanks for your wise advice for the foolish persons like me. But, you must understand that there is no such unit established to do overlapping jobs in parallel to HR Unit in any organisation. All the appointement and removal related functions are ultimately routed through HR irrespective of whether the decision is taken at any level, may be at the Board level.

However, for my information (so that I may be careful in future to avoid posting foolish answers), I would like to request you to apprise me what type of foolishness I showed in my reply, or what type of offending information you could find in my reply to the question?

Still further, you may also like to explain me why an interviewer is obliged to explain what he intends to ask and for what purpose, unless the interviewee (candidate) tries to seek any clarification?

Do you feel that the interviewer (HR) should start taking classes of a huge lot of prospective candidates on day to day basis before selection of a candidate for a single job, just to explain them what would be his question, why and for what purpose he would ask such questions and what should be the answers of the candidates instead of discharging his duty to select one talented candidate out of the whole lot to unltimately get a kick to be ousted from the organisation for wasting his time and not selecting a talented person in several days exercise?

Mind it, the author of the question has asked for answers from seniors considering that as a diplimatic question (I am not aware about you how senior are you and how much experience you have got in the corporate world). Your date of birth (June 8, 1977) clearly indicates that out of your total age of 34 years, you would not have more than 8 years' of total experience of your job, but in what capacity that is the question? On the other hand I am more than double of your age with about 40 years of practical experience PLUS 10 years of experience as a consultant after my retirement and I had been involved even in selection of candidates of up to GM level. In my answer I have just pointed what was the reality behind the question duly quoting sections of the company law. I have not even stated that the question was a diplomatic one or not. If I post my answer to enhance her knowledge as well as that of the other community members, how that could be a foolish answer for you like a wise person? If you think the question of the interviewer was irrelevant or my answer was irrelevant you should have come out clearly by stating how the question was irrelevant or my answer was irrelevant?

Sorry, if you can't digest any informative reply. That shows foolishness only on your part, which you have demonstrated openly by yourself by making the present post.

Thanks for your reply. At the outset, kindly avoid underestimating anybody in this world. Try not to calculate NO. OF YEARS EXPERIENCE = KNOWLEDGE GAINED. I would love to say that, your way of assuming things, sounds TRULY FOOLISH.

A "SENIOR" it doesn't mean that "AN AGE OLD PERSON HAVING DECADES OF EXPERIENCE". I only value and respect knowledge held by an individual which is worth MILLION DOLLARS. AGE FACTOR IS NOT OF MY CONCERN..

Everyone has right to suggest at their will, but up to the end user whether he wants to accept or reject. Try not to undervalue others suggestions, just based on your EXPERIENCE and AGE. PROCEDURE and PROCESS are two different things.

Can you define, HOW YOUNG IS TOO YOUNG?

Most of process are routed through HR but to my knolwedge, HR is more or less a RUBBER STAMP in many organisations(irrespective of its size) having NO AUTHORITY(POWERS) to take major discussions. They can't even do justice with their employees, while they themselves being an EMPLOYEE

For your kind information, i am not a wise man neither i had claimed the same, so far. I believe and understand that "A BARBER and CHEF both are professionals in their trade and they has to do their jobs falling in their trade but, A BARBER CANNOT BE ASSIGNED A CHEF JOB & VICE VERSA. No wonder, a barber can have knowledge pertaining to CHEF'S TRADE and VICE VERSA.

1) May i know, what do you think about HR? A great personality having wide knowledge about HUMAN PSYCHOLOGY(mentality) and WELL DEFINED RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES?

2) Do you have any idea HOW CURRENT HRM INDUSTRY IS FUNCTIONING IN MOST OF THE ORGANISTIONS? For this, you have to study the problems/issues faced by many employees.......

3) To what extent, HR is blessed with POWERS TO TAKE MAJOR DECISION?

For your information, I am an EX-SECRETARY GENERAL of KHAJA EDUCATION SOCIETY, GULBARGA, KARNATAKA and i had not only recruited DEAN and PRINCIPALS of educational institutions having Ph.D's and much better qualifications but also IT SPECIALIST catering SPECIFIC SEGMENTS.....It doesn't mean that i am great personality. I started working and earning my bread & butter even before i secured my admission in college. I am not interested to praise about myself but i know what i am, because most of the time i had spend in understanding HUMAN PSYCHOLOGY(MENTALITY) correlating with this world.

I think we forget to ask the poster that, what post he has applied for????
If it is for legal, then answer must be purely technical, based on the provisions of Co. Law.
In case it is for HR, then definitely the interviewee is looking for HR Skills to be applied in such situations.
Further, i would like to humbly request Mr. Dhingra and Khaled to have healthy and positive discussion.

Your earlier answer “why you people are reacting in a foolish way,” itself suggests that you consider yourself as the wisest man on earth, while you consider others as mere fools. On the other hand, your own answer, dated 22.06.2011, gives clear inkling that you consider your answer,“They haven't approached me seeking my views/opinions etc., else ALLOW ME TO PLAY THE ROLE OF A MANAGEMENT, I WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO REMOVE HIM ALONG WITH RIGHT ACTION TO BE TAKEN", as the wisest answer, while as a ‘candidate’, you have showed nothing except extreme foolishness and egoistic attitude by providing such a childish answer. Your answer, being a Sheik, may be valid in the Sheikdoms of Qatar and UAE, where expatriates have no chance in getting good managerial jobs irrespective of whether how much talented candidates they may be. Even your own country Qatar where even more than 80% of the population is of expatriates (Qataris being less than 20%), but they are placed at lower and lowest rung of employment.

Through your latest post, dated 27.06.2011, you have done nothing except giving your real introduction, how much you know and how wise you are in HR and Corporate affairs. Of course you are well qualified in arrogance. Clearly you seem to be enemy of knowledge. While you consider yourself having taken the world contract of knowledge about HR, as you think others, like me not knowing anything about HR, your own answer, dated 22.06.2011 did not have even any remote relevance to HR.

I advise you WHY NOT TRY YOUR ABOVE ANSWER in a country like UK, USA and India and you will know where you stand in your wisdom and HR knowledge.

You will finds answers to your queries in this website...
Do more research before you talk about expatriates and dont underestimate anyone on this earth the way you are doing now...You have no idea which nationality is managing GCC BUSINESS ACTIVITIES.
When you are trying to impart or share knowledge please don't point out whether others had given an easy reply or difficult one....because may be for you everything sounds easy to handle.....

May I make a sincere appeal to all. We should not engage in a debate or make statements that would create exchange of messages going beyond the topic in question. If we have to make critical comments about other bloggers, then we should resort to writing PRIVATE messages or mails. This will help to keep the discussions in the thread free from emotions.
There is a saying in English "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words do not hurt me". If we follow that, then I am sure we will avoid reacting to people's comments.
We all can do with a bit of self-reflection, as to why we make critical comments in the first place. Also, there is an old Sanskrit saying which states
Please tell the TRUTH
Please say that is PLEASING
Do not tell the TRUTH if it is UNPLEASENT
Nevel tell a LIE just to PLEASE.
