A simple thought! The Reason may be.... In Black and White TV... Only two colours were relayed , so it is easy to say Black & White! Where as, In Colour TV, so many colours are transmitted and hence we cannot mention all the colour names, and so a common name - Colour TV!!!8-)8-)8-)

Color T.V is a television which generates all the colors as they appear, whereas in the case of Black & White T.V it can give only the combination of Black & white colors, i agree these are also colors but to avoid confusion its called Black & white T.V.

In black and white tv only two colours are visible.. they r black and white so simply called as black and white tv, but in colour tv so many colours are visible, but we can't call that tv as black, white, orange, red, green.....etc tv rite...... so it is called as colour tv. thats all. but all of them r colours only
