Hi All
After reading all the comments by HR guys i feel i had mistakenly got into HR - but what now wherein i had already put 4 yrs of exp.
My conclusion is that HR is for females only and males are ore owl in this field. I wanna change my field what field i ahve to take ?

Don't loose heart.
If you want to be a Business Manager managing HR function of the business rather than as a HR Manager managing the business function of HR, then as a male you stand chances to shine in HR.
Think how you can convert yourself to be a business manager by being in HR.

Hi ALL,
Very interesting topic started by Vinay.
Male or female no matter what you are for any position, any designation etc.
But I disagree with one point written by somebody, that Female HRs are preffered if company have more female employees. In our organisation we are just two females with over 100 males. HR is handled by a Female, me.
So, this point is out of question.
But this kinda things should not be discussed by professionals like us, we should be mature enough to have males and females in any roles.
Sometimes, I get so late to go home from office that I don't get time to cook food, in that case members of my family(all males) my father, brother and fiance' cooks delicious food, almost thrice a week.
Can we argue, that females should cook food not males,NO!! right.
So why are we discussing this irrelevant topic.
Look for the qualities within, to accept the person in any role.

reality check- My class has 70 gorgeous ladies nd juz 5 guys..nd everyone sayz that HR z for Girls?? :?
Im in a learning process so take this liberty to keep my point of view.First of all I do agree wid Vinay dat Women r emotional bt as a Pro HR they knw where to draw the line and dis emotional aspect earns them xtra points. :D .secondly Itz alwayz about Skill set and attitude wich sets you apart nd make u the best :!: -WHERE does Gender comes in???
Even cookin requires skills and heart!nd i guess all the five nd 7 stars kitchens are ruled by MEN!Agree??
So itz A personality,Skils,nd organisational setup salsa which makes the HR function dance gracefully in Any organisation.

Well it depends upon the skills one have.... & it can never be taken that HR can be best driven by girls only.
But as generally girls have the extra patience to listen the grievance of others so in that way they get more success in HR field as half of the employees tension will get automatically resolved if his or her problem taken in right manner......
but rest of the problem remains same.... :wink: ... :D
Now almost 60% of companie's HR division is handled by girls & all r doing well in a way......so y to argue who is best ......it shows that girls have some how, upper hand in this field but it doesn't mean by any means that guy's can't do better as it entierly depeds upon the competency ...brain...skill...patience....tacts....etc.etc... ..which guys have too... so take a chill !!!!

Although its interesting to get on a debate that HR is suitable for men or women, but truth is its very immature of all HR professionals to discuss things like this on the forum.
We can be more creative and innovative to start fresh HR related discussion on forum.
As Rupesh has rightly put, attitude, qualifications, skills are required to be good in any field and not gender.

So good going in the topic and attract good comments and feed back.
In my career of 26 years , i once worked with a female boss for about 03 years. Initially there was no much trust on me and my capability. But when a situation came and I promised to her that this job will be done by me within the frame work of time. My words could not be believed. I repeated my promise and told her to trust me.
Atlast she had a trust one and believe i finished the assignment 10 days before the target time and sent the report to hqrs. I was the only person who finished the target well in time and she was the only Head (in india - out 30 centres) who made her well in time. Appreciation came through telephoe, email and ofcourse by post.
After this incident there was no seeing back and i became very close to her in terms of official assignments and she came forward to help and support me very happily even in my personal life i.e, finding good hospital for treatment of children, employment to my wife, locating good doctors for medical treatment to my brother's son who was just 02 years affected by cancer.
Though not i am not working with her, she still has affection towards me and my family and always extend encouragement.
So Both male and female are having their plus and minus. It depends how they perceive the issue and act accordingly.
Ofcourse their succeess also depends their colleagues, how they give their hands.
Male and Female, boss is always right :)
