Hello,
I think your son should approach to HR via just sending the mail or meet him/her personally. HR definitely will give the solution for that through make both of them understand the situation and guide them whoever misunderstood or having a problem.
Other thing as all the seniors has said, this is the corporate world... everyday you have to face this or that type of situation. Not only your son but we all were faced this kind of situation, yes as a fresher it looks hard and weird but as time goes one come to know how to handle the situation. It is what is called "Experience"..!!!!
Be ready, tough and strong to tackle challenges... Just concentrate on your work then ultimately one can overcome any frustrating situation...

Hi Rocklin,
Thanks to all for their input. As suggested by some, my son did approach the HR but to my dismay HR called the senior also and as expected the boy was not allowed to put his point across. As a result now the senior is now taking out his grudge by not giving any task or instructions making it more difficult for the boy. I think the HR couldn't play it's role properly. Instead of calling a fresher and a guy who's with the co for 7-8 years the HR could have heard them both seperately before reaching to any conclusion. I'd like to add here this is reputed retail co. I myself have worked as a HR and this act on the HR's part surprises me.

It happen some times, that is what I mentioned earlier he should go to the right person, any no point in crying over Spilt milk, now he should not be depressed and ensure he doesn’t fall into contrivances, It very difficult to get back to the track of his boss Again since he may react, so ask him to be cautious and work, we need to observe his performance and also ensure the does not get mentally depressed, in case he is not able to manage we need to look into secondary options

The solution will be based on the company and its management leadership.
If it is not professional then no use of approaching other persons rather than adjusing with him.
If it is so professional and grievance management system then he can approach grievance redressal
team or hr for help.

I think there may be something in between which your son doesn't disclosing. Please advice your son leave your angry, frustration everything in the office and act as per the advice of his boss.

Hi Rocklin, As feared, the HR washed off his hands by advising my son to resign else he'd be terminated. The boy was left with no choice but to submit his resignation. Now, should he include these two months in his CV? coz anyways it'll be difficult to explain either the gap or the termination. What to do?

Ups, did not expect it so fast, any way please as him to put down his papers, and let him mentally prepare him self for the next, please let him a little loose, since he is with you guys he is not learning things by his own, let him stay alone in another city and work, so he can learn to survive, with reference of showing experience I would suggest NO. 2 months need not be disclosed. But ensure in his new office he does not speak about it , since negative spreads like wild fire

Hi,

I have gone through the case and I would like to suggest the following area for your son; in order that he can be on the safe side;

1- Organizational politics are everywhere. We cannot say its bad or good. This is what is available everywhere

2- Your son needs to document all of his performance and achievements during this period, in case if his manager clam later on for his poor performance

3- If the organization has a solid background and policies, please don’t hesitate to contact HR in advance and inform them accordingly

4- Ask him to review the employee handbook and HR policy of the organization, is there anything to support him

5- Overall, what is your son reason for such an issue with his boss. If the reason is only replacement. Then this is a matter of abuse of authority and harassment in the organization plus conflict of interest. He needs to document all the case and finding. Make ensure all the documents should be in written no verbal words would be acceptable; if the case doing to senior management or eventually court.

Please, if you can provide me a brief answer to the above questions, I will be in a good position to reply you back.
