Dear Priti,

This is a reply to the mail which you had sent to me. This is because I just want the information to be shared to everyone here.

Doing SAP-HR would bring you better prospects in your career, however it would be only if you are looking to change your field from a generalist role to a a SAP consultant role. If that is your idea then you shall do the course in well known or educational partners of SAP Inc.

If you want to remain in a generalist role and just want to enhance your career with SAP then you shall just go for a normal study center because SAP is like a ocean and any institute will just teach you how to start with. No institute can provide you an experience or practice in live project as they can't do so. Again it is impossible.

Now at present market is good for SAP (people with experience ) but not for freshers in SAP. Remember even though you have about 4 years of experience in domain, you would still be considered as a fresher in SAP......... :(

Just mail me a comment on to what exactly are you looking for, so that I shall give you the specified reply.

Best regards,

Mahesh :)

Yes I have mentioned that the market for functional, technical, techno functional consultant in SAP is good if you have experience in SAP. No company is presently taking people who have trained in SAP with/without domain experience.
The salary package for a fresher in SAP would be not less than 3,00,000 per annum.
Still there is no point of taking about the salary when there are no openings for a fresher in SAP at this present market situation. It is really advisable to check with after October, 2010...... :)

Dear Purnima,

The demand for SAP personnel is always there. It would rather move up when the business reclaims the recession. When money flow increases, it impacts the process flow and technology. So companies would start implementing SAP on to their organization. In this case the need increases. It is nothing but the demand supply elasticity. What I specifically mention is the opportunities for the freshers in SAP.

It all depends on in which institute you take the course. Normal institutes will teach you very little of SAP and you have to keep practicing it over and over. You would get a better understanding on to the software when you are in a job (SAP). The real reason behind this is the screen itself differs from a training software to a working software. There would be lots of radio buttons and other things in the training software, in working software there wouldn't be much radio buttons compared to the other one.

End user and Implementer are the same. It is like people who are on implementing process would be using the back end screen and those who are end users would be suing the front end screen. It is very simple to understand. It is like members who uses citehr.com are the end users and those who had worked to create this site using software are the back end users (implementers).

Dear maddineni,
Yes what you mentioned is right. It was prior to July 2008, when companies were hiring people with just domain experience and train them in SAP module. It is because there is no center/training institute to teach SAP completely. Even big institutes like Siemens, Genovate, etc will not be able to give you a practical knowledge on live projects.
That's exactly the reason why I stated that job opportunities for SAP freshers is not there in the market at this point of time. You shall check it for your self by giving a search in the web. Hope you are clear now.... :)
