Hallo friends, I m doing MBA in HR (3rd semm). I would like to giv Gaurav a ray of hope as his problem still remains unsolved.
Any1 being an HR mgr., should think of motivating his org's employees n try to do nething -affordable n possible- to make the employee concentrate on their work , which will result in increased productivity.
As we know dere r some PRANAYAMS (YOGA) which increases concentration power. Also some help in healing certain diseases to some extent.
So , if such pranayams r taught to employees by experts, den gradually the productivity will increase . And at da same time, medical expenses on employees be reduced- if its implemented properly.
The Yoga-classes may b held once every week. And every month a test should b conducted by the Yoga-expert to check dat the employees do make it a habit of practising yoga regularly at their home. The marks obtained in this test should b used in performance appraisal. This will help to keep a track if their per4mance/productivity has increased .------This is a good way to implement it (mandatorily).
Look friends if the students (generally CBSE schools) wid so much pressure, can get habituated wid such classes, den why cant we???
Friends lets think positively . My suggesstion is dat Gaurav , u better approach the HRs of some org. n make dem feel the benefit dat u can giv them. U can also giv ad to local newspaper- so dat they may contact u.
Later on, u can make ur own org who would do such classes on contract basis or so on.
Friends let me know ur opinions on it.
I specially want to get a rply 4rm Gaurav.
Thanks

i m very happy to get so much reply about the topic, i m very thankful to deepthi for having a fine understanding of HR. but i very disappointed with the frnz who only know yoga as asana and pranayama. i want to tell them yoga is the greatest science and it is a methodology that helps an individual to know its own self. it covers all the aspects of life with its various branches. i would like to suggest Mr. sawant and all the frnz to read tthe book Spiritual capital by D. Johar, and leadership by wisdom (sage publication). these book will give you and insight that yoga is a universe beyong our imagination and how yoga can change the conditions at workplace and can increase the better side of leaders & managers.

Hi Sawant,
Though you have brought out the bare realities, there does exist a lot of scope for yoga being included as part of HR.Employee well being is what HR was made for and if yoga helps in physical, psychological, social and spiritual well being why not take it?We in HR have been bearing all crap for so many years, why not take something which would be innovative and is a time tested science in bringing the "UNION" within a personality.I think that a healthy employee in all facets is an asset in the long run.Would be interesting. But the time factor is my worry.

Hi Everyone,
No HR practices should be based on superstitious or emotional judgement or casual approach. All those who promote rationale by extending logical thoughts must exhibit the return on investment for all HR initiatives and practises.
No HR professional has right to squander the money of any organization without knowing repercussion of such experiments and cost and benefits analysis. HR professional must develop systematic and scientific approach in investigating and corrobrating with statistical evidance to prove a point beyond any doubt to establish that he is right or worng.
We cannot just sympathies and sing poetry for anyone who finds shelter or rescue at the cost of organization.
I request the reader to understand the meaning in letter and sprit of this note. This will be helpful for those who have no sufficient experience in HR to prove the point.
We cannot take Yoga as Aryurveda medicine for HR function is emotional thought emerged out of Indianisation of HR.
This is rediculeus.

Hi,
We Indians will not take Yoga seriously till europian tell us the importance of that.
With the personal experience we can see the benifits of yoga.
Take it professionally now and answer the following question.
1. Increase in concentration of employee will increase productivity or not ??
2. Due to increased resistance power, diseases are less and hence reduction in seek leaves, will company also benefit from this or not ??
3. Company has to bear medical expenses for employee...And yoga is just precaution for diseases ...weather precaution is better than cure for company also ??
We can not find out all the benefits of Yoga due to our body centered science and mind is not considered here.....
