Dear Anil ji,
The ESI Corporation is also IT rolled out. When you appoint any employee coverable under the scheme, you need to register him under your establishment on ESI portal. While registering, you will have to choose an option - already IP or not. If you choose an option - already IP, you need to submit his insurance number and the same number will carry forward in your employment.
The insurance number remain same even an employee change his employment. This was there even before the IT roll out.
