Hi all,

Could somebody please explain the rules regarding ESI deductions (Employee and Employer contributions)? My company has been deducting these contributions for the last 6 months without providing me with an ESI Card. Is there a specific rule to file a complaint about this issue? If so, where should I submit the complaint? I am currently facing some physical problems, and the remedy for these issues is so expensive that I cannot afford it. I believe that having an ESI card would enable me to seek treatment at an ESI hospital more easily. How can I manage this situation myself?

I would be extremely grateful if someone could provide me with support on this matter.

Regards,
Shail

Hi all,

Somebody tell me the rule of ESI deduction (Employee and Employer contribution). My company has been deducting from the last 6 months, and they have not provided the ESI Card yet. Is there any rule to complain about this? And where should I complain? I am facing some physical problems, and the remedy for this is so expensive that I can't afford it. I think that if I had the ESI card, then I could go to the ESI hospital and have treatment with ease. How can I manage myself?

I will be highly indebted to you if someone can support me with that.

Regards,
Shail

Shail, first, talk to your employer. They must have provided you the temporary card, or ask them what your insurance number is. With that insurance number, you can go for treatment after taking Form 37 from your employer. It's better to speak to your employer about this issue first.

If they are unable to provide you with the relevant information, then you can approach the area ESIC office. Meet with an ESIC official there or send a written complaint.

I Dont see any direct impact on hr. No changes in scope, rates or computation. Mostly procedural matters have changed. Or did I miss something ?

In this amendment, the prescribed limit is not mentioned. Please clarify what is new prescribed limit for coverage.

No one tells about the new coverage limit all thank each other. Please give the new prescribed limit for coverage. What is the maximum salary limit for coverage......

Ah! That is exactly what I said earlier. The amendment seems to be more connected with procedural changes within ESIC, and there is nothing in the amendment that requires procedural or computation changes by companies. The increase in limits was circulated earlier, but I am not sure if that has been passed or is still in limbo. Hope someone can give us that answer.
