Dear Mr. Manor,
  • Try to understand them through the employee database like their educational background, personal background and experience with other companies because these things will have influence on their behavior
  • Try to make as much as possible meetings and events like welcome meet for birthday celebrations, project completion
  • Make people to talk about their experience in every event
  • Conduct team building events like games, quiz in free time or allocate a particular time for same

Hi Manoj,
There has been a same kind of crisis that was faced by one of the top most BPO in India. My suggestion is also the same methodology which they had followed.
Make a new post named relationship managers ( 23-28 years preferably, female condidates will be the best suited one) in your concern. The assigned task for this role will be that they will have to talk to the employee and first get the confidence. I'm sure that this can be done only by a new employee. Present employees will start talking to them as they will feel that this particular person is not into any king company politics.
I hope this message helps you.:)
Thanks & Regards,

In any organisation the effort to integrate the employees with the organisation usually has to come from the top. There are many ways of gaining employee trust, involvement, commitment beyond just their duties.
One of the proven exercises is "Visionary Leadership Programme" which is the process of working out the Vision, Mission and short/long term goals of the company. This is done with the involvement of all the staff, at all levels in the organisation.
A precursor to this could be the Right Man for the Right Job exercise in which you could use the psychometric appraisals very effectively.
The first job for you is to boldly take up the issue with your seniors, in fact the senior most in the company and then go ahead and do the rest.
Prasad.

dear manoj
today morning only i took a class on fundemntals of employee and hr mgr relationship.
i want to quoate from my notes " employee is not a bulk commodity and a collective noun. it is individuals and every individual has his own identity .'
first action ------- start meeting and treating individuals
second action ----- win his or her confidence by doing something for them in action and not verbally
third action ------- prove ur worth to them before they accept u as frined.
( at 60 years of age when i took over an establishment it took me 6 months to provemy worth to the 150 staff of varous levels)
lastly ---------- prepare a data base in ur personal dairy and update it.
i have been in hr since 1962 both in civil and the army. i lernt from my first boss COL AMRIK SINGH MALHI now residing in chadigarh two imp points
1. ' do not pass / cross a man on the road /corridor without talking to him for few minutes '
2. the best one ' do one good deed for every person serving with u or under you atleast once in the tenure"
BEST OF LUCK
DO GIVE US A FEED BACK

Hi Manoj,
Have some meetings with the TL's of different departments to find out the team problems and then make the employees feel free, take outings, arrange for some special games or programmes etc.,where they can feel free to communicate with each other.

Dear Manoj,
I would suggest you to start things like "SPEAK UP"
You would have fair understanding about the type of industry you belong to make that as a base like "Voice of Customer " & then sit with one of department head & look at the quick fix & long term solution for the problem areas this will surely help you being trusted & approachable then just pushing yourself with Employee engagement & whatever tools as this will haelp them to know you are with them & for them......
TRY THIS IT WORKS !!!!

Shruti

Hi
This is my opinion
If im hurting u sorry for that
But one thing it depends upon us also that how we r intracting with the employees
whether we r very strict to emp or friendly attitude
Most of the time we need to be as a friend then only they can share their problems or wat ever
But it is also necessary to be strict at their attitude and work
but dont give the much lineous to the employee
and also it takes some time to intract friendly with the employees because u r new to organisation and even ur organisation is also new so, it takes some time
you dont get worried about that
