I am rather intrigued by the question raised, without giving a context, and the responses given. My experience of going to interviews in India over 50 years ago, and in the UK over 30 years ago, is that I had to introduce myself by just stating who I was. So, I searched the web for "How does one introduce self when going for job interview in the UK?" and found some answers at the following sites.
How Will I Give My Introduction To The Interview Board? Clearly states "In your introduction you simply want to firstly introduce yourself, and let them know your name."
How do you introduce myself as a teacher in interview
Interview Skills
The material I found confirm my experience.
