I am a member of the HR club in my college, and we have to conduct an activity-based class on the topic of "nepotism." Please suggest what type of activity should be conducted to make the class engaging and interesting.

Dear Aishwarya,

As we don't know what you know about NEPOTISM, it is very difficult to guide you. Hence, I suggest that you read and digest the information at [World In Conversation – Is nepotism a good or bad thing in the long run? - 119 Blog](http://worldinconversation.org) *(link updated to site home)* ([Search On Cite](https://www.citehr.com//results.php?q=World In Conversation – Is nepotism a good or bad thing in the long run? 119 Blog) | [Search On Google](https://www.google.com/search?q=World In Conversation – Is nepotism a good or bad thing in the long run? 119 Blog)) and then tell us how you will go about the task. We will certainly make some constructive comments.

From United Kingdom

Nepotism in industry and business, especially, means showing undue favors to a particular employee for various reasons, such as granting leave when the employee is not eligible, promotion, performance review, etc. An income tax officer showing favors to an assessee or a government official sanctioning something when the applicant is not eligible are examples of nepotism. Nepotism is prevalent in all walks of life, as we often see in the media. For more enlightenment, please refer to the link mentioned in the above post by our learned friend, Mr. Simhan.

Best wishes.

Dear Aishwarya,

I suggest you construct a role play depicting a situation where the manager makes a biased decision, and then have a debrief on what nepotism is, why it should be avoided, and how to prevent it.

Regards,
Kirti
