Dear Freinds,
I will not advise to waste your money at initial stage in going for sap certification. Instead do sap training from local institutes who provide placements and work on it for 2 to 3 years.
Even if you do certification you will not get a job as it is too tough now and there are no jobs for freshers.
Think twice before you put your hard earned money.

Dear Pavithra,
SAP Certification will cost you Rs.2.5 Lakhs approximately. There are only two licenced partners, siemens and genovate.
If you have very good academics and experience then also in intial days you might have to struggle as doing certification in itself is not sufficient as most of the companies ask for experienced guys and no one is ready to pick up freshers. If you want to verify this then open any job portal like naukri.com, monster.com, jobsahead, timesjob etc... and you will realize that since last few months there is no opening for fresher. It seems the market is saturated now.

Hello Everyone
Can anyone please suggest Is it worth to spend 3 lakhs to get SAP certification from Siemens?? I have enquired from other institues which are providing this training for only Rs15000 but they say that the certificate would be from NASSCOM.I am really not able to decide should I go for the expensive one or the cheaper one. What would be the benefits if I go for expensive one from Siemens?? Please help me friends..

Dear annu,
Certifications in SAP is provided by only authorised partners of SAP which are Siemens & Genovate.
Even if u go for certification, u wudnt be getting a job in SAP in India as the demand is only for experience.
Get a training in the module in which u r interested, work for 2 years n then u can appear for certification exam only on a cost of 25k-30k. The training wud cost u (without certification) abt 20000 rs - 50000 rs. Depends on the institute.
If u get a training from institute who r charging 10000 Rs, believe me, the trainers wudnt be real time trainers.
If u require any further info, u can contact me as I am an SAP Consultant myself.
Regards

I am working as a s/w Engg for around last 5 years (as developer for last 3 years). But I work in telecom domain. Now I want to move to sap. But our company doesn’t work in sap. And I also had no prior knowledge. That’s why I am taking a course in abap from a local institute. It’s in introductory phase. Now after reading some articles and news I have become sceptical about getting a job in sap. Even if I get one would they treat me as a freasher in sap? Or do I have to compromise with my current salary structure? And can you please tell me how tough would it be to work in sap from some other domain? And how much time will it take to grasp the real world implementation/project? I am very much interested to know it. And will it be a wise decision to move to sap in current scenario? I think u have a vast knowledge as u r working as a consultant. So please suggest something.

Dear Annu,

Every new craze is costly, like the computers, when invented were not within the reach of even well to do persons and now it is damn cheap. Similarly, if we see the rates of mobile phone calls when introduced in India, it was Rs.16.00 and Rs.8.00 per minute respectively for incoming and outgoing calls and now you can see its rates having gone to ground with free unlimited incoming calls.

Similarly, the cost of SAP will also go much down, when the SAP inventors are able to muster huge registration of trainees and fill up their coffers to the edge.

Of course, the value of the persons getting training now will be much more than those managers who have not learnt SAP. Also there will be no addititional value of a person learning on some later date when it becomes a compulsory subject for every management stream. Still further, the old managers without SAP qualification may become redundant when well qualified managers get inducted in the industry.

You can consider the cost, whatever it is, as an investment for the sake of your career.

Best of luck

Dear Deepti,

SAP Training for R.15,000/- with NASSCOM Certificate is better than Rs.3,00,000/- trining from Siemens. You can compare costs of every thing in India and Germany (Siemens country) you will understand the difference. So, it is foolishness to invest 20 times with a foreign company.
