Okay I forgot to mention here that from your CTC or total earnings there are certain deductions that are tax free like
PF - Provident Fund
PT - Professional Tax
Annual Bonus - It is not usually a part of CTC but if it is it has to be deducted.
Sec 80C and 80CC
Medical reimburesements
child education and hostel allowance
house rent allowance
after all these deductions you get taxable earning and we compute tax on this taxable earning as i explained above.
